Reforming Training – Challenges and How Do We Make it Happen?
Chairs: Hiro Tanaka & Deepa Bose
Surgical training in Trauma and Orthopaedics requires an exceptional level of commitment and dedication to achieve the highest standards of clinical performance. This may lead to having to make sacrifices in a trainee’s personal and family life which can be inequitable depending upon the circumstances.
What can we do as a profession to reform training to minimise these inequities and thereby improve recruitment, retention and allow our trainees to flourish in their professional lives? In this session, we explore the challenges and the innovative solutions to this important issue.
