Rick Brown is the Clinical Lead of the Foot & Ankle Unit at The Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre, Oxford and Immediate Past President of BOFAS. He is an Honorary Senior Clinical lecturer for the University of Oxford and is passionate about Foot & Ankle education, having initiated the BOFAS Principles of F&A Surgery Course in the UK, India and across Africa. While a Registrar he worked in Angola and Eritrea with HALO and has operated in Cameroon in a Club Foot Team. He is a lifelong member of WOC. For over 12 years, he has been an Examiner for the FRCS (Tr &Orth) and is now an Assessor of the Examiners. This experience he is sharing with COSECSA, while sitting on the Orthopaedic Exam Panel.

Charmilie is a ST4 Trauma & Orthopaedic Registrar in South East London and is the current BOTA Education Representative. Charmilie is passionate about modernising medical education and advocates for equitable access to training opportunities for all. She represents the educational interests of Orthopaedic trainees at national surgical training meetings and is the Lead Convenor of the annual BOTA Academic Congress, the largest trainee led international orthopaedic conference.

Callum Clark is a Consultant Orthopaedic surgeon and Clinical Lead for Foot and Ankle surgery at Frimley Health NHS Trust, and also works in private practice at the Windsor Foot and Ankle Clinic and the Fortius clinic. He is chairman of the BOFAS Education Committee and has run a popular post-CCT fellowship since 2007. He has a wide range of clinical interests, particularly sports injuries, deformity correction and ankle arthroplasty, and has also published and presented on a wide range of topics.

Since January 2006, Mark has been a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Sheffield University Teaching Hospitals, UK. He qualified from the University of Southampton in 1993 and undertook basic surgical training in London, Oxford and Swindon prior to commencing Orthopaedic training in Sheffield. He is both Fellowship trained in Limb Reconstruction techniques (Sheffield) and in elective Adult Foot & Ankle surgery (Brisbane). In education, he has been voted Orthopaedic Trainer of the Year by the South Yorkshire trainees and contributes to teaching and training nationally and internationally. He is actively involved in implant design and has a specific interest in additive manufacturing processes for custom solutions. He has published extensively on many aspects of foot and ankle surgery. He is the current President-elect of British Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Society (BOFAS) and a former Chairman of Sheffield Orthopaedics Ltd.
Consultant Anaesthetist, President-elect of the British Society of Orthopaedic Anaesthetists (BSOA) , Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust
Professor Anil Hormis is a Consultant Anaesthetist at the Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust. He also works as a Consultant in Pre- hospital Emergency Medicine with the Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance. He completed his Anaesthetic training in Sheffield and his Fellowship training in London.
He is the President-elect of the British Society of Orthopaedic Anaesthetists (BSOA) and he is a member of the ALS Subcommittee of the Resuscitation Council UK.
He specialises in Anaesthesia for major upper and lower limb Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgery. He is an expert in regional anaesthesia.. He has published numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals and authored several chapters in books. He is regularly invited as a faculty to national and international courses and conferences.
He is the Director of Research & Development at the Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust. His main research interests are in the prevention of Delirium in the elderly after major surgery and the use of advanced patient monitoring techniques for this group of patients.
Throughout his career he has provided high quality anaesthesia for day case procedures and has been intrinsically involved in changing the pathway of many elective and emergency operations to day case.
Consultant Podiatric Surgeon, Dean of Podiatric Surgery, Royal College of Podiatry
Mr. Ewan Kannegieter is a Consultant Podiatric Surgeon and currently serves as the Dean of Podiatric Surgery at the Royal College of Podiatry (2024-2026), after previously holding positions as Vice-Dean and Chair of the Southern Deanery. He co-chaired the Annual Scientific Conference for Podiatric Surgery (FOPS Conference) in 2022 and 2023.
Mr. Kannegieter is a Fellow of both the Faculty of Podiatric Surgery at the Royal College of Podiatry and the Faculty of Podiatric Medicine at the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons, Glasgow.
He played a key role in launching the Mid Essex Diabetes Amputation Reduction Plan (MEDARP), an NHS England Transformation-funded initiative aimed at reducing major amputation rates and hospital stays while improving survival through limb salvage for diabetic patients. He is a reviewer for 'The Podiatrist' journal in the UK and a consultant for Novastep. Additionally, he is an affiliate lecturer for the University of Huddersfield's Masters in Podiatric Surgery program and a Research Summer Fellowship Mentor at the Frank H. Netter MD School of Medicine at Quinnipiac University, CT, USA.
Mr. Kannegieter has frequently served on the teaching faculty for cadaveric courses across Europe and the UK, covering diabetic limb salvage, core foot and ankle surgery, and ultrasound. He has mentored many healthcare professionals to become advanced clinical practitioners. He also sits on the Medical Advisory Committee (MAC) at Phoenix Hospital Chelmsford and leads the governance group for its MSK, SEM, Orthopaedic, and Podiatric consultants.
In his spare time, Ewan supports his boys' grassroots football team, Thorley Manor FC, serves as an FA First Aider, plays guitar, and enjoys cooking.

Togay Koç is a Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon with a specialist interest in Foot & Ankle Surgery at University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust and Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer at University of Southampton. He qualified from Guy's, King's and St Thomas' Schools of Medicine in London before completing his orthopaedic training in the Wessex Deanery.
He has been on Fellowships to Southampton, Oxford, Guildford and Frimley as well as a visiting Fellowship to the Harborview Medical Centre, Seattle, USA. He is the Editor of Orthopaedics Online, Secretary of the BOFAS Media & Communications Committee and leads the BOFAS Simulation Working Group.

Karan Malhotra is a Consultant Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Surgeon working at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, Stanmore, UK. He graduated from Manchester with honours before beginning his core surgical and early registrar training in Yorkshire. He completed his registrar training on the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital Training Rotation, London. He undertook Foot & Ankle Fellowships in Singapore, Melbourne and Stanmore.
He is actively involved with research, medical education and quality improvement. He is widely published and teaches on many national and international courses. He has won numerous national and international prizes during this career.
He was co-opted to the British Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Society (BOFAS) Outcomes Committee in October 2017 and the IT Committee in November 2019. He was elected as a full IT committee member in March 2021 and became the Media & Communications Committee Chair in March 2024.

Jit Mangwani is a Consultant Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Trauma and Reconstruction Surgeon at the University Hospitals of Leicester. He undertook higher specialist training in orthopaedics on the Royal London Hospital rotation.
He is Honorary Secretary of the British Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society (BOFAS) and has served as Chair of the Scientific Committee, BOFAS (21-23). He has been a member of National Joint Registry Research committee.
He has led and completed the BOFAS James Lind Alliance Priority Setting Partnership (BOFAS JLA PSP) project. This national project has set up ‘Top-10’ research priorities in foot and ankle surgery.
He has a keen interest in medical research and education. He is chief investigator for several outcome studies on ankle fractures, Achilles tendon rupture and other foot and ankle conditions. He is principal investigator for a number of multi-centre national studies.
He has been conferred the title of ‘Academic Champion and Honorary fellow’ by University of Leicester. He serves on the Editorial board of several reputable orthopaedic journals. His contribution towards research in foot and ankle conditions has been recognised with several national and international prizes(Chang Chan prize, Klenermann Prize).
He has published numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals and authored several chapters in books including AO manual of fracture management on Foot and Ankle Trauma. He is passionate about medical education and is involved in both undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and training.
He is regularly invited as a faculty to national and international courses and conferences. He is actively involved in the training and teaching of General Practitioners and Allied Health Professionals.
Consultant Surgical Podiatrist, Orthopaedic Department, NHS Tayside
William McMurrich qualified with a degree in Podiatry from Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh in 1993. Following his MSc in Surgical Podiatry in 2004, he undertook a Certificate in Medical Ultrasound, Glasgow Caledonian University and a Non-Medical Prescriber course, Dundee University. He was acting Head of Service of NHS Lothian Podiatry service from 2013 to 2015, retaining a clinical interest in Rheumatology and Orthopaedics.
The NHS Education for Scotland sponsored him to undertake their Surgical Podiatry training programme (2015-2019). The Doctoral education of this programme was supported via Queen Margaret University and approved by the HCPC, College of Podiatry and BOFAS. Since qualifying as a Surgical Podiatrist in 2019, William has been employed in NHS Tayside in his current role as Consultant Surgical Podiatrist. He contributes to Glasgow Caledonian University and Dundee University MSc programmes as a visiting Lecturer.

Ramsay Sloss is a Specialist Podiatrist in Foot and ankle Biomechanics at Glasgow Sports Injury Centre, Balanced Edinburgh and Oriam Sports Injury Clinic at Heriot Watt University Edinburgh.
Retired from the NHS in 2014 Ramsay is now working in private practice and spent 30 years working in the NHS almost totally in Biomechanics, the last 10 of which were as an ESP Podiatrist in Glasgow & Clyde NHS Trust trained and mentored by Mr. Senthil Kumar F.R.C.S. During that time Ramsay has worked closely with surgeons, physiotherapists and other HCPs in managing patients with foot and ankle problems. Ramsay became a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons (Glasgow) in 2019 for his work with Dentists and other HCPs in the field of Descending Biomechanics

During his time in GG&Clyde NHS Trust Ramsay and his colleagues were instrumental in the Glasgow Trust receiving the NHS National award for “Patient care and innovation” after setting up a joint working group involving patients looking at and constructing ways of reducing waiting times for Foot and Ankle Orthopaedics.
