Andrew Duckworth is a Senior Clinical Lecturer in the Usher Institute at the University of Edinburgh and an Honorary Consultant Orthopaedic Trauma Surgeon in Edinburgh Orthopaedics at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh. Following completion of his training in Edinburgh, he was an Upper Limb Fellow at the Wrightington Upper Limb Unit. His clinical interests are in trauma and upper limb surgery, with a focus on injuries around the elbow, wrist and hand. His current research includes clinical trials in orthopaedic trauma, large data and patient reported outcome measures. He is a Co-CI, co-app and PI on NIHR funded clinical trials. He is an Editorial Board Member for the Bone and Joint Journal (BJJ), Bone and Joint Research (BJR) and Bone & Joint360, and is on the Research Committees of the Orthopaedic Trauma Association (OTA) and the Orthopaedic Trauma Society (OTS). Fares Haddad is a hip and knee reconstructive surgeon and Professor of Orthopaedics and Sport Surgery at University College Hospitals and The Princess Grace Hospital in London, UK. He is Divisional Clinical Director of Surgical Specialties at UCH, Director of the Institute of Sport, Exercise and Health at University College London, past president of the British Hip Society and of the British Sports Trauma Association. He is also Editor-in-Chief of The Bone & Joint Journal.

Daniel Perry MA(Oxon), PhD, FRCS (Orth) FRCS Ed (Ad Hominem) is an NIHR Research Professor, Consultant Children's Orthopaedic Surgeon at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital and is the BOA Speciality Lead for Paediatric Orthopaedic Clinical Trials.
Dan trained in Liverpool and Warwick, before completing a fellowship at SickKids Hospital, Toronto, Canada. He is the first orthopaedic surgeon to have been awarded a prestigious NIHR Research Professorship.
Dan leads a large amount of research in children’s trauma, orthopaedics and emergencies – including orthopaedic studies - FORCE, SCIENCE, CRAFFT, BigBOSS, PICBONE, ODDSocks, OpNonSTOP, BASIS and even a trial in paediatrics about UTIs (CURLY)! His academic love is to make clinical research accessible – for children, parents and clinicians. He keenly integrates cartoons, animations, videos and uses text messages to make trials easy for everyone.
Dan is a member of the NIHR HTA General Board, is Orthopaedic trials lead for the Royal College of Surgeons, an Editor of the Bone and Joint Journal and is the clinical lead for hip screening within Public Health England.
Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon , Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh
Chloe Scott is a consultant hip, knee & trauma surgeon at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh and an NHS Research Scotland Clinician. Her research interests include arthroplasty outcomes, periprosthetic fractures, robotic surgery, finite element analysis and knee biomechanics. She serves on the editorial board of the BJJ where she is associate editor for knowledge translation and was awarded the Hunter Doig medal by the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 2020.
