Consultant Trauma & Orthopaedic Surgeon, Cambridge
Mr Mike Barrett is consultant orthopaedic and trauma surgeon at Cambridge University Hospital, where he treats complex major trauma patients and has a tertiary referral foot and ankle service.
He enjoys regular teaching of peers, and junior surgeons and is a co-founder of the a international digital education platform orthohub.xyz.
Mr Barrett trained on the East of England orthopaedic rotation. During this time, he was awarded the Trainee of the Year, Trinity Cup (best in class), and the British Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle society gold fellowship awards.
He completed fellowships in foot and ankle at the University Hospitals Dorset, and major trauma & limb reconstruction at the Royal London Hospital.
Mr Barrett has written book chapters on foot and ankle surgery for a Bailey and Love series, and authored several peer review publications.
Mr Barrett enjoys spending time with his wife and three young children. He enjoys running and cycling.
Consultant Orthopaedic Foot Ankle Surgeon, University Hospitals Leicester
Maneesh Bhatia is a senior Consultant Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Surgeon at the University Hospitals of Leicester. He enjoys teaching and is an Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Leicester. He is the founder and director of British European Foot Ankle Academy (BEOFAA) that aims at educating young orthopaedic surgeons globally. He is passionate about foot and ankle research and education and plays a very active role as a committee member of the Scientific Committee of the European Foot and Ankle Society (EFAS) and the Education Committee of the British Foot Ankle Society (BOFAS). He has written three books in the fields of foot and ankle surgery, joint injections and primary care Orthopaedic education that have been translated into international languages. One of these books won the prestigious BMA best book award in 2021.
Consultant Orthopaedic Foot Ankle Surgeon, Frimley Health NHS Trust
Callum Clark is a Consultant Orthopaedic surgeon and Clinical Lead for Foot and Ankle surgery at Frimley Health NHS Trust, and also works in private practice at the Windsor Foot and Ankle Clinic and the Fortius clinic. He is chairman of the BOFAS Education Committee and has run a popular post-CCT fellowship since 2007. He has a wide range of clinical interests, particularly sports injuries, deformity correction and ankle arthroplasty, and has also published and presented on a wide range of topics.
Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon, Sheffield University Teaching Hospitals
Since January 2006, Mark has been a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Sheffield University Teaching Hospitals, UK. He qualified from the University of Southampton in 1993 and undertook basic surgical training in London, Oxford and Swindon prior to commencing Orthopaedic training in Sheffield. He is both Fellowship trained in Limb Reconstruction techniques (Sheffield) and in elective Adult Foot & Ankle surgery (Brisbane). In education, he has been voted Orthopaedic Trainer of the Year by the South Yorkshire trainees and contributes to teaching and training nationally and internationally. He is actively involved in implant design and has a specific interest in additive manufacturing processes for custom solutions. He has published extensively on many aspects of foot and ankle surgery. He is the current President-elect of British Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Society (BOFAS) and a former Chairman of Sheffield Orthopaedics Ltd.

Mr. Paul Harwood is a leading Limb Reconstruction and Trauma Surgeon at Leeds Major Trauma Centre. With a focus on managing complex trauma cases, Mr. Harwood is known for his advanced surgical expertise in restoring function to severely injured limbs. He is committed to delivering personalized patient care and continuously advancing the field through his contributions to research and education.
Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon & Clinical Director, Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, Glasgow
Bilal Jamal is a trauma, foot, ankle and limb reconstruction surgeon who is based out of the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital (QEUH) in Glasgow where, alongside his plastic surgical colleagues, he leads the orthoplastic service for the west of Scotland.
Bilal qualified from the University of Aberdeen in 2006 following which he completed surgical training in Glasgow. Bilal was the recipient of the prestigious European Foot and Ankle Society travelling fellowship in 2015 which led him to visit centres in Heidelberg, Lyon and Verona. Further fellowship experience was gained in Sheffield and Edinburgh.
Bilal was appointed as a consultant in 2017 and was tasked with establishing a limb reconstruction service. He is a member of the executive committee of the British Limb Reconstruction Society as well as being a council member of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow. Since January 2022, Bilal has served on the trauma committee of the British Orthopaedic Association.
Senior Lecturer, Hull York Medical School
Sarah Johnson-Lynn is a Senior Lecturer with Hull York Medical School and Honorary Consultant Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Surgeon at the James Cook University Hospital, with interests in diabetic foot surgery, foot and ankle trauma and limb reconstruction. She graduated from Newcastle University and completed specialty orthopaedic training in the North East. Fellowships in foot and ankle surgery at Addenbrookes Hospital and in trauma and limb reconstruction at Leeds General Infirmary followed, as well as a British Orthopaedic Research Society travelling fellowship in Asia and Australia. She completed a PhD at Newcastle University, continues to lead clinical and qualitative research projects and teaches on the faculty of several national courses.
Foot and ankle consultant, The Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh
Mr Shalaby is a foot and ankle consultant based at the Royal Infirmary in Edinburgh, since 2009. He receives tertiary referrals from across Scotland for cases like ankle replacement, complex primary and revision surgery. He has a special interest in minimally invasive surgery, ankle cartilage reconstruction, complex foot deformity corrections and applications of circular frames around the foot and ankle.
He has been the past chair of the Foot & Ankle Scotland (FAST) society. He is very active in research and teaching. He lectures nationally and internationally, and he is a visiting expert at multiple centres worldwide.
