Orthopaedic Trauma Surgeon
Peter is a consultant orthopaedic trauma surgeon at The Royal London Hospital, Barts Bone and Joint Health. He is former clinical lead, trauma lead and Clinical Director of the orthopaedic department. His subspecialty interest is orthopaedic trauma, pelvic and acetabular injuries and polytrauma.
He and Kash run an Orthopaedic Trauma Sciences Masters programme through QMUL.

Andrew Duckworth is a Senior Clinical Lecturer in the Usher Institute at the University of Edinburgh and an Honorary Consultant Orthopaedic Trauma Surgeon in Edinburgh Orthopaedics at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh. Following completion of his training in Edinburgh, he was an Upper Limb Fellow at the Wrightington Upper Limb Unit. His clinical interests are in trauma and upper limb surgery, with a focus on injuries around the elbow, wrist and hand. His current research includes clinical trials in orthopaedic trauma, large data and patient reported outcome measures. He is a Co-CI, co-app and PI on NIHR funded clinical trials. He is an Editorial Board Member for the Bone and Joint Journal (BJJ), Bone and Joint Research (BJR) and Bone & Joint360, and is on the Research Committees of the Orthopaedic Trauma Association (OTA) and the Orthopaedic Trauma Society (OTS). Chloe Scott is a consultant hip, knee & trauma surgeon at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh and an NHS Research Scotland Clinician. Her research interests include arthroplasty outcomes, periprosthetic fractures, robotic surgery, finite element analysis and knee biomechanics. She serves on the editorial board of the BJJ where she is associate editor for knowledge translation and was awarded the Hunter Doig medal by the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 2020.Consultant Revision Arthroplasty/trauma Surgeon, Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
Mr J Shelton is a consultant revision arthroplasty/trauma surgeon at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
Mr Shelton Graduated from the University of Dundee in 2010 and after completion of foundation & core training joined the Mersey rotation in 2014 for higher surgical training in trauma & orthopaedics achieving his fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh in 2019 and Certificate of Completion of Training in February 2021. The excellent outcomes of joint replacement surgery drove Mr Shelton to seek further fellowship training in arthroplasty and complex trauma, completing The Cavendish revision arthroplasty fellowship here in Sheffield along with fellowships in young adult hip/arthroplasty at Prince of Wales Hospital Sydney and major trauma/metastatic arthroplasty at Royal Prince Alfred Sydney. Mr Shelton was appointed to his NHS role at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals in October 2022.
Mr Shelton also has a keen interest in global development of orthopaedics and promoting access to orthopaedic care in low and middle income countries. Mr Shelton was the Kadoorie fellow at The Children’s Surgical Centre in Phnom Penh Cambodia and returns annually to provide support and training to the local Khmer surgeons working there. For his work in surgical education he has been awarded membership to the faculty of surgical educators by the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.
Mr Shelton’s research interests focus around efficiency, systems and processes and is actively involved in the development of the South Yorkshire Major Revision Network promoting the best possible care for your patients around the region.
Mr Aswinkumar Vasireddy is a fellowship-trained Orthopaedic Trauma Surgeon specialising in the management of complex upper limb, lower limb, pelvic and acetabular fractures. He works at King’s College Hospital (Major Trauma Centre) in London. At King's, he is also the Director of the Orthopaedic Trauma Fellowship. He completed further specialist Orthopaedic Trauma training at The Royal London Hospital, as well as Orthopaedic Trauma Fellowships at Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham and King’s College Hospital in London. In addition, Mr Vasireddy has also completed travelling fellowship visits to multiple major trauma centres in America, including the Shock Trauma Centre in Baltimore and Harborview Medical Centre in Seattle. Mr Vasireddy also has extensive experience in Emergency Medicine, Intensive Care and Anaesthesia. As a result, he is also a Consultant in Prehospital Care with the Air Ambulance Service.

Mr Abd Wahab is a graduate of Trinity College, University of Dublin, Republic of Ireland. He completed Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI) basic and surgical specialty training programs and continued training in multiple busy teaching hospitals in Republic of Ireland. He was previously appointed as RCSI Clinical Tutor and Lecturer in Trauma and Orthopaedics Surgery and completed his Master’s in Surgery (MCh) degree while delivering academic program for undergraduates and trainees. After achieving his FRCSI in trauma and orthopaedic surgery, he pursued fellowship training in complex orthopaedic trauma at King’s College Hospital, one of the busiest London major trauma centres. He also undertook shoulder and elbow surgery fellowship training at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells Hospitals.
He has been a fellow with Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland since 2021. He continues to teach as faculty in deanery training days and FRCS revision courses. He is appointed clinical and educational supervisor to trainees and mentor for trainee’s FRCS examination preparation. He has several publications in peer reviewed journals on orthopaedic trauma topics, international podium, and poster presentations. He has also written trauma chapters for trauma and orthopaedic textbook. As part of UHSussex, his practice is based at Royal Sussex County Hospital Major Trauma Centre, Brighton. His expertise is focused on complex trauma and upper limb trauma, as well as general trauma and orthopaedic surgery. He is a member of the complex trauma and Orthoplastics multidisciplinary team, managing these challenging injuries with regular combined trauma operating list and Orthoplastic outpatient service. He holds current membership with the British Orthopaedic Association (BOA), Orthopaedic Trauma Association (OTA), British Trauma Society (BTS) and British Medical Association (BMA).
