How is the Taurus walker fundamental in facilitating this?
Perceived barriers to early mobilisation following hip and knee arthroplasty have been identified. Patients have reduced confidence to walk independently and are reliant on waiting for physiotherapists to get them up first-time post op, leading to reduced efficiency in the ERAS programme.
Looking at early mobility with the use of a Taurus walker

Alexa graduated as a Physiotherapist in 2003, completed her post graduate MACP in 2016 at Coventry University and has over 10 years experience in both elective and trauma orthopaedics. During that time she has worked in the Midlands, Devon and more recently in Essex with the new GIRFT elective surgical hub accreditation at Braintree Hospital.
Alexa joined Topro in September 2022 in a clinical consultant role, specifically looking effectiveness of the Taurus walker for the facilitation of early mobilisation post op.
