Research Courses at the Nottingham Clinical Trials Unit

Free places for BOA members as part of the BOA CTU initiative

As part of our new partnership with Nottingham Clinical Trials Unit (NCTU), we are delighted to offer some new opportunities for BOA members and associates to undertake courses about clinical trials and systematic reviews free of charge.

We are offering a limited number of fully funded places for BOA Members and Associate Members on two NCTU short courses. Please note travel/accommodation are not included and must be self-funded if required.

Please complete the application form here if you are interested in any of the below courses. Applications will be considered on suitability and merit, as they are received.

The courses on offer are:
  • Fundamentals of Clinical Trials 5-day Course: 13th-17th May 2024

(Normally £800)

The Fundamentals of Clinical Trials 5-day Course is made up of two components and you may choose to attend only the first three days, or the full course.

  • Nottingham Systematic Review 4-day Course: 25th-28th June 2024

(Normally £985)
 

All above courses take place face-to-face in Nottingham. You can apply to be considered for more than one course but only one course per person will be funded.

Eligibility:

To be considered for a fully funded place on any of these courses, you need to be a BOA member (full or associate) and *:

  • Have a demonstrable interest/track record in clinical trials research
  • Have relevant research experience as evidenced by any of the following:
    • Involvement in clinical research conduct
    • Peer-reviewed publication
    • Award of research funding
  • Have completed or be registered for relevant PhD
  • Have relevant external fellowship completed / in-progress
  • Be a PI or Associate PI for clinical trial(s)

*The indicators above are not exhaustive and it is not intended that applicants must fulfil all.
