Research Initiatives

The UK has a proud history of research and innovation in trauma and orthopaedics, and the BOA has been a long-standing supporter of this.

Our fundraising for research (through Joint Action and our membership) allows us to provide direct support to a number of strategic research initiatives. At present we are supporting:

• The BOA funded Clinical Trials Units - Exeter and Nottingham 
• Development of James Lind Alliance (JLA) Priority Setting Partnerships (PSPs) in various areas of trauma and orthopaedics 
• Surgical Speciality Leads for clinical trials
• Joint BOA/ORUK Research Fellowships
