How to apply
APPLICATIONS for 2024 have now closed
We have changed the way you apply for the BOA/ORUK Research Fellowships to make it easier to submit an application. From 2024, applicants are invited to submit their application via the ORUK research portal. Shortlisted applicants will then be invited to interview with the research panel.
To apply
- Applications must be submitted via the ORUK platform and submitted by 12 noon on 29th April 2024.
- You will need to upload your supervisor statement and financial statement to complete your application
Please note: The financial declaration must be signed by the finance office of your proposed host institution. This can take several weeks so you must plan ahead. We will not be able to accept incomplete applications.
Important notes about applying:
Please refer to the FAQ when preparing your application.
You must ensure you allow sufficient time to complete all requirements of your application before the closing date. In particular:
- The supervisor statement must be completed and signed by all proposed supervisors. It is acceptable for each supervisor to complete a separate copy if necessary.
- The financial declaration must be competed and signed by the finance office of your proposed host institution. This frequently takes several weeks from your first request.
If you or a proposed supervisor need to apply for backdated BOA membership, you must allow a minimum of 4 weeks for your membership to be processed i.e. application must be received by 30th March 2024 at the latest. For more information email [email protected].
It is your responsibility to ensure all sections of the application are completed and submitted prior to the submission closing date. Applications which are not completed or have eligibility criteria outstanding at 12 noon on 29st April 2024 will not be considered.
Short online interviews for shortlisted candidates will be held (via video conference) in July 2024. You will need to be available on this date and timings will be confirmed around 2 weeks beforehand.
