This course teaches fundamental principles and current concepts in the treatment of patients with a need for primary arthroplasty in the hip and knee. The course is the initial step along the path of lifelong learning in the area of joint arthroplasty. Based on a patient-centered approach this course focuses on the key principles of primary arthroplasty, and is targeted at newly certified orthopedic surgeons and advanced orthopedic surgical trainees.

Sports knee 2025 is convened by Tim Spalding, Peter Thompson, Andy Metcalfe, Nick Smith and Feisal Shah. A two-day consultant preparation course catering specifically for candidates applying to NHS orthopaedic consultant posts. This course is suitable for ST8 registrars, post CCT trainees, locum consultants and SAS surgeons intending to apply for consultant positions.

This meeting will provide lectures and hands-on training for the majority of the soft tissue knee injuries, with cadaveric specimens. A strong faculty consisting of expert surgeons working in RJAH Knee firm will stimulate discussion and teach the delegates in an anatomy lab environment.

This years Bristol / Oxford Group Meeting moves back to Bristol and will take place in the Heineken Suite at Ashton Gate Stadium in Bristol. Our expert faculty panel will be approaching topics such as the role of UKR’s in treating conditions such as medial OA whilst considering implant balancing and soft tissue balancing. We will take a look at the many different robots available to aid in surgery and examine complex case studies bought forward by faculty and delegates alike. As with 2024 the lower limb symposium will run on Wednesday 26th November and delegates are invited to join for this event to learn about the effectiveness of physiotherapy and working as a multi-disciplinary team.

The Bristol Hip Arthroplasty Course is a well known international hip meeting which was initiated by John Newman in the late 1980s. it has since grown in stature and reputation. It is now co-convened by Evert Smith, Anthony Ward, Richie Gill, Richard Baker, Mehool Acharya and Michael Whitehouse. It attracts a strong international faculty and is well known for its debates after each session. The conference aspires to improve current practice and promote clinical excellence as the faculty present their views on issues valid to a hip practice including outcomes, new procedures, materials, bearing surfaces, design, primary and revision hip replacement and their complications. This 3-day course will cover most of the core curriculum for the foot and ankle.
