BOA Annual Congress 2025

The Bristol Hip Arthroplasty Course is a well known international hip meeting which was initiated by John Newman in the late 1980s. it has since grown in stature and reputation. It is now co-convened by Evert Smith, Anthony Ward, Richie Gill, Richard Baker, Mehool Acharya and Michael Whitehouse. It attracts a strong international faculty and is well known for its debates after each session. The conference aspires to improve current practice and promote clinical excellence as the faculty present their views on issues valid to a hip practice including outcomes, new procedures, materials, bearing surfaces, design, primary and revision hip replacement and their complications. This 3-day course will cover most of the core curriculum for the foot and ankle. Lectures aim to provide delegates with a core understanding of the management of common foot and ankle problems and topics include biomechanics and gait, the evaluation and treatment of forefoot, midfoot and hindfoot pain, the role of orthotics and what to prescribe. Also featured: •Hands-on examination techniques with sawbones workshops •Arthroscopy workshops •Hands-on patient clinical examinations with case based discussions •Anatomy with cadaveric dissection demonstration •Opportunity to complete work-based assessment for portfolio

Following the success of the conference over the last two years, we are delighted to announce that the 2024 AI in Orthopaedics and MSK event will take place on Thursday 19th and Friday 20th December 2024 at the Royal College of Surgeons of England in London. This year’s event will be held over two days and will follow a similar format to the previous meetings with instructional sessions. New this year will be more opportunity for break out meetings and discussion groups / networking.

This intensive 2.5-day cadaveric workshop combines focused lectures with practical sessions, delivered by an experienced faculty. The course is designed for diabetic foot surgeons from the UK and abroad who are involved in the management of complex diabetic foot conditions. Previous delegates have given excellent feedback.
