The British Orthopaedic Trainees Association (BOTA) is a democratically elected national organisation that advocates for trainees in Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery. Founded in 1987, it currently has around 1500 members and is comprised of 19 full committee officers (including five executive officers) and a regional representative from each of the 30 regions. As elected representatives, full committee officers are formally invited to attend various council meetings and trainee forums to highlight any training-related issues.
