Royal College of Surgeons of England College Assessors
The College is welcoming applications from experienced consultant surgeons for the highly regarded position of Advisory Appointment Committees (AACs) assessor in all surgical specialties.
The College has, as a primary responsibility, the upholding of the highest standards of practice of surgery in all specialties. Therefore, to fulfil this responsibility, the Council places great reliance on the assessors at AACs.
The College Assessor is the only statutory external influence on the AACs and along with the panel, must ensure that the best candidate for the job is appointed and that the process is fair and open within current legislation and employment practice.
Please note the essential criteria below for the College Assessor role:
- Minimum 5 years' experience in the consultant or senior role
- Equality & Diversity training, completed within the last 3 years
- Full GMC registration
- Fellowship with RCS England (FRCS)
